MetaMask, a popular browser extension for working with Ethereum and storing ether, is now available as a mobile app, announced Ethereum studio ConsenSys.
The MetaMask app for iOS and Android devices is a mobile wallet with the ability to interact with decentralized applications. You can select them from the list or find them yourself using the built-in browser.
To import existing wallets from the extension, it is proposed to use a QR code scanner. You can also buy ether through the app using Apple Pay, bank cards, and other payment methods depending on the country.
There are no Russia and CIS countries in the list of supported regions. The developers say that when creating a mobile application, they paid special attention to user safety. To do this, they implemented a secure login function, key storage and the ability to create passwords and keys for decentralized applications directly on mobile devices so that no one except the user can access the account.
Not all functions of the browser extension are available in the MetaMask mobile application yet. For example, users cannot connect Ledger and Trezor hardware wallets.
