Is BTC under threat? Belarus elections and disconnection of master nodes

The capital of Belarus has problems with Internet after continuing social unrests.

Since this morning the independent website of Zubr.in monitoring became unavailable. It seems that the page had been blocked by IP. The platform creators offer in their turn users to write messages about violations of voting legislations via Telegram bot @zubr_assist_bot. Other users inform about slow downloading of files in Telegram without proxy servers and bad operation of such services as YouTube, Google, VPN-services. While, both casual and mobile internet users have the dame problems. After, we started getting messages about Internet problems from all regions of Belarus. Observers think that Internet can be disconnected around entire Belarus.

The project “Golos” (Voice) created by the developers for the protection from falsification during elections, which already has more than 500 thousand users connected and offering the alternate options of votes calculation during Belarus president election informs that it had been subjected to informational pressure on the behalf of state authorities. The head Prosecutors office offered to the Ministry of communication and informatization to review in case of “technical capacities options” the issue on the limitation of this web site activity on the territory of Belarus. Such statement had been made by the head of one of the Ministry’s departments during her interview to “Belarus -1” TV channel on August, 07.

Widespread disconnection of Internet around the country which is cryptocurrency friendly has caused other problems such as the disconnection of mining pools, master nodes and access to the exchanges. Taking into account that Belarus has a lot of companies related to crypto industry such situation has influenced the price of first cryptocurrency. For this moment the price of BTC makes 11 615USD, which is 1,5% less in comparison to yesterday’s price. The master nodes working online and signing coins blocks have difficulties by thus providing hackers with the possibility to compromise the specific amount of master nodes.
