Indian state of Tamil Nadu informs about blockchain infrastructure plan

The Indian state of Tamil Nadu presents new technology projects, including a blockchain infrastructure, aimed at government processes easing.

Tamil Nadu chief minister Edapaddi K. Palaniswami informed about the adoption of Tamil Nadu ethical blockchain policy, according to The New Indian Express.

Palaniswami also informed that Tamil Nadu plans to start a project aimed at the provision of Knowledge Proof Identity-based services delivery aimed at revolutionizing the way of services provision to the citizens.

The project will be implemented by launching the State Family Database (SFDB) and Blockchain Backbone infrastructure. The blockchain infrastructure will act as a single source of truth for all government data and processes. It may also be used for the change of the image of governance and usage of blockchain in the country.

The launch of Blockchain Backbone infrastructure, the country admits the necessity to make a forum for the promotion of collaboration between industry, start-ups, and academia in aim to construct an ecosystem.
